Day 1

In the morning the guide of the group meets all the members in Barnaulairport. Right from there on a comfortable minibus the group heads for the Altai Republic. Today you have a long journey along famous Chuiskyi Road during which you can learn from your guide what it's famouse for.  We make stops to take pictures and, of course, to have lunch at a road cafe.

In the evening we arrive at a camping we spend the night at. The night is in Mongolian jurtas or wooden cabins (no conveniences)

Day 2

After breakfast we head further in the direction of Mongolian frontier. In Kosh-Agach, a large Altai village, we make a stop to get our passes to Ukok ( Ukok is situated in a border area, in which special admissions are needed. For foreign citizens the execution of documents takes over two months.) 

We cross Chuiskyi steppe. If we are luchy we can see camels or yaks there.

One more interesting place we visit todayis rodon springswhich have healing powers. This place is sacred for native people. If we get there late we we spend the night at this place. Otherwise we get over the mountain pass call Warm Springs which cuts us off Ukok Plateau.

The night is in tents.

Day 3

In the morning we get up Warm Springs pass and face the magnificent view of Tabyn-Bogdo-Ola mountain (from Mongolian the name means Five Sacred Peaks) It's really stunning. The night is in tents. 

Day 4-5

These days we spend on the plateau going on hikes to the glaciers of Tabyn-Bogdo-Ola and Ukok lake enjoying special atmosphere of tis place. Nights are in tents.

Day 6

 Today we leave Ukok and go to village called Dzhazator which is situated in a wonderful part of the Altai mountais we are going to explore.  We arrive at a base, have sauna. After sauna you can rest or walk arond the camping. The night is in houses (no conveniences).

   


Day 7

 Today we go on our mini buses to the place where three main mountain ranges of the Altai mountains meet. We get over mountain passes, relax by the Argut river, explore ancient burial places and take a lot of pictures as the places we see are really breathtaking. In the evening we return to our camping.

Day 8

Today we make all the way back to Kosh-Agach and then to the place we spent our first night at. In the evenig hot sauna waits for us.

Day 9

Today we make all the way back to Kosh-Agach and then to the place we spent our first night at. In the evenig hot sauna waits for us. We continue travelling through Altai. But today it's time to leave Chuiskyi road and head north. The landscapes are constantly changing. On our way we see a lot of different sights. Our destination is Chulyshman valley. This place has been isolated for a long time. That’s why the nature here is still unchanged and undamaged by civilization. We spend the night in a traditional Altai houses, called ails.

Day 10

Today you have a short hike to a waterfall along the Chulyshman river which you first cross in a vessel boat. After this excursion we have dinner and head further. This night we spend on the junction of the Culyshman and the Chulcha rivers. The night is in small houses.

Day 11

 Today we are going to visit a wonderful creation of nature – Stone mushrooms. This night we spend in small house or probably in tents.

Day 12

 On the south shore of the lake the scenery is completely different. The night we spend in houses. Dinner. Sauna.

Day 13

Today we cross Teletskoe lake on a boat. They say that this lake is a younger brother of Baikal lake. In the north of Teletskoe lake there's a village Artybash. The night is at a hotel (with all the conveniences)

Day 14

After breakfast we go back as our journey has come to an end. Be ready for a long drive. In the evening we are in Barnaul.  

Day 15

After breakfast you have a transfer to the airport.


Weather conditions: The weather in the mountains may be very changeable. So, be prepared for any kind of weather: hot, rainy and even snowy (a slight minus might be at night).

This tour goes in a border area, in which special admissions are needed. For foreign citizens the execution of documents takes over two months.

Requirements: This tour doesn't require any special physical streanth. The main thing is to be in good health and not afraid of spending nights in tents and eating food cooked on fire, not having a shower every day.

Necessary equipment:

The cost of the tour includes: three meals a day ( except the first and the last  two days), all the transfers, overnights in houses and hotels according to the program, saunas, all the excursions.

Extra expences: services offered on bases which are not included in tour cost.
